Sector Imperialis Sanctum

Published on May 10, 2025
When I ordered this Made to Order kit in December, it was beyond my wildest dreams how it will end up being so amazing and large 🤩

Okay but first things first, do you know the Made to Order program that Games Workshop runs from time to time? It’s like a second chance to buy kits that went out of print, were part of a bundle, or otherwise are in simple terms no longer available.

So it happened last December they announced a few of very cool terrain kits like the Sector Imperialis Sanctum will be available to purchase. The catch? It can take up to 180 days for them to produce and ship it 💀 I ordered it anyway because I just love those gothic cathedrals, monuments, and general vibe of the setting.

It finally arrived this Thursday and I assembled it right away! (Of course, I had to) Here are some pictures:

The monuments of inquisitors, teh main attraction of this kit.

And I have to admit… it’s MASSIVE. At least twice as large as I expected and right now I’m not sure where and how to store, prime, and paint it, yet.

The details are crisp and beautiful and I like how modular was the build process — two different wall designs and a couple of broken walls were mixed and matched in various creative ways. The large floor pieces then locked everything in place. The obvious holes in the floor were fixed with smaller seemingly random pieces, making everything look well tied together and realistic. For such a large build, everything was locked in place and at the proper angles quite easily!

Unfortunately the usual issue with large Games Workshop kits is that they have large and thick gates. It was quite a workout to cut everything out and clean it — I even cut myself! Not deep enough to need stitches but also Khorne was happy for a while 😉

All in all I’m super happy with this kit because it’s a beautiful centerpiece of my collection and I will have much fun playing my Warhammer 40,000 and Kill Team games on it.
